The Office, seriously?
I can’t believe last week’s episode, Special Project, is getting good reviews. How can anyone like that episode? It was seriously probably the worst episode of the Office yet. That’s really saying something considering how terrible Pool Party was just three weeks before.
First, it was a Valentine’s Day episode and yet there was nothing even remotely cute or sweet involving the two main characters and main love story of the show. Jim was being completely uncharacteristic and actually seemed to be trying to convince his lovely wife whom just returned to work after giving birth to his second child, to give him permission to go on basically a three week vacation right around Valentine’s Day. Really? That is such terrible writing for his character, I’ve never seen him act like such a jerk.
Second, the Kathy thing. Seriously? When did the Office become a daytime drama series? One of the main reasons people love the Office is how sweet Pam and Jim are and the writers throw this homewrecking bitch into it to try and up the drama. How about writing the show like you used to, back when it was actually funny?
After Pool Party I was very close to giving up on the series, but then Jury Duty completely changed my mind. Dwight and Angela are by far the best characters, they’re the only two that haven’t either completely changed or become boring/unfunny. However, this most recent episode is seriously making me want to reconsider giving up, again.
If Jim cheats on Pam I really will be done with this series, which is sad, considering it is my favorite show for re-watching because of the amazing first five seasons.
This needs to be shown after last week’s episode.
“ESO’s VISTA telescope, at the Paranal Observatory in Chile, has captured a striking new image of the Helix Nebula. This picture, taken in infrared light, reveals strands of cold nebular gas that are invisible in images taken in visible light, as well as bringing to light a rich background of stars and galaxies.”
